Where is the Resort located? How far from San Juan?
The Rio Mar Resort is located in the east side
of Puerto Rico, in the town of Rio Grande. The Resort is
18 miles from the San Juan Airport, approximately 35-50
minutes car drive, depending on traffic.
Where are the villas located?
The Villas are located inside the premises of the Rio Mar
Beach Resort. There are villas in two different locations,
beachfront (the "Ocean Villas") and
around the resort’s golf courses (the "Golf
View Villas").
How far are the villas from the
beach? How far from main hotel building?
The Ocean Villas are located approximately 30 feet away
from the beach and a short walk to the hotel main building.
The Golf Villas are located half a mile from the beach and
the hotel main building.
How will I know the condition
of the villa that I’m renting and whether I will like
its furniture and decoration?
We only rent the best villas available
at the Rio Mar Resort. We are constantly turning
down villas that are offered to us for rent because they do
not meet our strict quality standards. Also, we are
the only Real Estate company who has a full time Villa
Concierge and full time Handyman on-site so we personally
and frequently inspect all of our villas and are
constantly doing maintenance work on them in order to keep
them in great condition. In addition, we also provide
accurate pictures of
all the villas, so you know what you are renting and the furniture the villa has. Major
distinction on the villas is as follows:
The Ocean Villas are all identically furnished; the same
developers and interior designers built and furnished them
(therefore we have model pictures that accurately
represent all Ocean Villas).
The Golf Villas are large in size and have been individually
decorated and equipped (therefore we show individual
pictures of each villa).
Should I bring towels and linens?
All the villas will have plenty of fresh towels and linens
for your use. For your convenience, all of your villas
feature washer-drying machines.
Are all the villas A/C and have Cable
TV?
Yes.
Do the villas have cooking appliances?
Yes, their kitchens are fully equipped with all major
appliances as well as basic cooking/ dinner/ flatware
Do the villas have toiletries?
The villas are provided on a self-catering basis. We provide
a complimentary starter pack of toiletries, including soap,
toilet paper, trash bags, etc. Once these items are used,
it is the guests responsibility to replenish them (the
closest grocery store is just 5 minutes drive or taxi
ride). If you request the optional maid service, the maids
will then replenish the toiletries during each service.
Do the villas have telephones?
Most of the villas have their own telephone available for
local calls. Local calls are considered by the
telephone company as calls made within the city of Rio
Grande. Long distance calls are blocked and can
only be made by using a calling card or asking the operator
to charge your call to a credit card. We therefore
recommend the use of cell phones since most cell
phone companies consider Puerto Rico as part of the US so
if you rate plan includes free long distance and roaming
within the US, it will likely include Puerto Rico.
It is always best to check with your local cell phone
provider to make sure this is the case with your provider.
Is maid service included?
There are two maid services included in each stay, one is
prior to your arrival, and the other is made after your
departure. If you wish additional maid service during your
stay the cost is as follows:
1-bedroom villa $50 per day or $210 per week
2-bedroom villa $70 per day or $270 per week
3-bedroom villa $100 per day or $360 per week
4-bedroom villa
$100 per day or $450 per week
A 5% tax will be
charged on top of these fees.
Do the
villas have washer/dryer?
All of our villas have their own washer and dryer.
Transportation to/from the airport?
We can arrange to have a driver pick you up at the airport
and take you to the villa. The chauffeur will provide you
the villa keys and take you directly to the villa. The cost
for this service $75 for up to 4 persons and $20 per
additional person in a private van. This is
similar to the rate of a taxi. We can also arrange for a Lincoln Town Car
or strech limo. You can ask the chauffeur
to make a stop at a grocery store on your way to the villa
(he will charge an extra fee for this).
Should I rent a car?
Renting a car allows you independence to explore the island,
go to the nearby local restaurants and make as many
trips to the grocery stores and mall as you wish. You
can either rent a car at the many agencies available
at the airport, or you can rent a car at the
Enterprise Car Rental Office
at the Rio Mar Beach Resort. We recommend golf villa
guests to rent a car.
Is there complimentary parking
for villa guests?
Yes, each villa has one reserved parking free of charge.
Do I have a restaurant nearby?
The Resort has several different restaurants for your enjoyment. There are
also many restaurants within a close driving proximity from the
resort. We'll be happy to recommend our favorites to you
when you arrive! Please note that the restaurants
within the resort have different opening hours/days
depending on the resort's occupancy and the main hotel
could decide to have certain restaurants closed during
some days.
What if I need assistance during
my stay in Puerto Rico?
Our offices are physically located in Puerto Rico, so we
will personally make sure that you get the assistance you
need. Villas in Puerto Rico also has a desk at the lobby
of the Ocean Villas and a full time Villa Concierge and
full time Handyman, physically at the resort during the
day. In the evening, we provide emergency telephone
numbers and have a night watch-man on our desk.
Is this a child friendly resort?
The activities and programs available for the children
are wonderfull. Children of all ages will find
numerous activities available for them. In addition
the Rio Mar Kid’s
Club is great way for your kids to have lots of fun and
for you to get a well-deserved rest. Please note that
there is a charge for using the Kid’s Club.
Is there baby sitting available?
Yes, you can either use the services of Rio Mar Kid’s
Club, by paying the price of the service, or we can arrange
to send a babysitter to your villa. If your child has
special needs, we have a person with formal training in
special needs children. Our babysitters are screened and
have been with us for years.
Grocery store, drug store, video
store?
There is a small grocery store at a distance of 1 mile away
from the Resort. At a distance of about 3 miles you will
find a strip mall with a large and modern grocery store,
and drug store. At a distance of
15 minute car drive from the villas you will find a Walmart,
Kmart, Walgreens drug store, Blockbuster, etc.
Roll away beds, cribs?
Roll away beds are available for rent at a cost of $25 per
night, cribs are available at a cost of $20 for night.
